What is a Blog Platform? - Social Media Glossary

A blog platform is the software used to create a blog.

Different types of blog platforms include Wordpress.org, Wordpress.com (a different product than wordpress.org), Blogger (owned by Google), and Typepad among others.

Blogger is one of the simplest blogging platforms to set up and use and Wordpress.org is one of the most powerful platforms.
