An RSS feed (stands for Really Simple Syndication) is a tool used to provide updates from a website in a simple and automated way.
A person can subscribe to your blog's RSS feed and then receive an update each time you post something new. This allows your updates to come to them (via Google Reader, Bloglines, email, or another format they choose) rather than them having to remember to look at your site for new updates every day.
