Motivational Monday :: Overcoming Obstacles

Monday, April 14, 2008

I always love hearing how successful business owners and entrepreneurs got their start and hearing about the obstacles they faced along the way and how they overcame them. We tend to put these people on pedestals, but in reality, they are everyday normal people with normal lives who simply chose to press in instead of give up.

Below is a commencement speech given by Steve Jobs, the co-founder of Apple, at Stanford University in 2005. He shares three stories from his life, portions of which any entrepreneur can relate to. The first one, about connecting the dots, is a topic that we'll explore in more depth tomorrow.

The video is about 15 minutes long, but since nothing too visual is happening as it is a speech, you can multi-task and listen to it as you would the radio.
