Welcome to Think Splendid, the blog of Splendid Communications! We are an online media consultancy specializing in the wedding and lifestyle event industries. Whether you need to increase sales revenue, extend your brand presence through free publicity, or land a book deal or television contract, we are experts at developing social media strategies that help you achieve your business goals.

We believe that social media is a return to old-fashioned roots of real conversations rather than a high-tech race to keep up with the next big thing. While the tools will always evolve, the need for businesses to communicate effectively and deepen relationships with their customers will remain.

We believe that the world is a bakery that produces fresh opportunities each day and not a fixed pie where each person has to fight for the last crumb. Our purpose is to encourage you to Think Splendid; both in business and in life.

Engage!09 :: Something Blue - Wedding Business Conference

engage 09 wedding business conference
Pack your swimsuits! Yesterday Rebecca Grinnals from Engaging Concepts officially announced the details for Engage!09 :: Something Blue and it is going to be bigger and better than ever!

Engage!09 is a conference for luxury wedding professionals and will take place Sunday, June 21st through Wednesday, June 24th at the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman.

This year's speakers include:
*Darcy Miller, Editorial Director of Martha Stewart Weddings
*Millie Bratten, Editor in Chief of BRIDES
*Preston Bailey
*Marcy Blum
*Sylvia Weinstock
*Sean Low, President of Preston Bailey Design, Inc
*Michelle Rago, destination event designer and author
*Harmony Walton of The Bridal Bar L.A.
*Simon T. Bailey, author and brilliandeer
*Lara Casey, Editor in Chief of Southern Weddings
*Susan Moynihan, Editor in Chief of Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine
*Laura Novak, acclaimed wedding photojournalist and business consultant
*Randy Fenoli, Fashion Director of Kleinfeld and featured in TLC's "Say Yes to the Dress"
and more!

The cost is $2000 per person and registration will open on Monday, February 2, so you have a bit of time to work this into your schedule for next year.  Both Engage!08 and Engage!08: The Encore sold out, and Engage!09 is expected to as well. Yes, this conference is one of the priciest in the wedding industry and that is because it is the best.  You get what you pay for and it is well worth the investment.

More details, including special room rates and airline partners, will be available with the launch of the Engage!09 :: Something Blue website in January.

You can read my recaps about both Engage!08 conferences here: Engage!08 part 1, part 2, and part 3 and Engage!08: The Encore.

Hope to see you there!
