Have you started reading other wedding or business blogs but still aren't quite sure what they're all about or how they would be helpful for your own business? Do you get asked often by your industry peers who are confused on the benefits of blogging? Here is a quick two and half minute explanation on blogs and how they work. It is the best one I have seen thus far:

Welcome to Think Splendid, the blog of Splendid Communications! We are an online media consultancy specializing in the wedding and lifestyle event industries. Whether you need to increase sales revenue, extend your brand presence through free publicity, or land a book deal or television contract, we are experts at developing social media strategies that help you achieve your business goals.
We believe that social media is a return to old-fashioned roots of real conversations rather than a high-tech race to keep up with the next big thing. While the tools will always evolve, the need for businesses to communicate effectively and deepen relationships with their customers will remain.
We believe that the world is a bakery that produces fresh opportunities each day and not a fixed pie where each person has to fight for the last crumb. Our purpose is to encourage you to Think Splendid; both in business and in life.

I'm part of the generation that grew up with the internet, so when web 2.0 gained a lot of ground (online communities, blogs, youtube, etc.), it just felt natural to me. Now that I'm studying to be an event planner, I'm realizing that a lot of experience planners are being taken by surprise with the amount of internet resources that are and can be used to promote and connect within the fields of events.
I felt that this video did a very good job of not only explaining what blogs are but what they can do, without making the watcher feel computer-illiterate for not knowing about it. Thanks for sharing!
Liene,
We used a lot of these "Plain" English videos in the "Social Media and Weddings" presentation I collaborated on for the Wedding Class I teach here in Las Vegas.
There are some other good "Plain English" videos on Wikis, etc.
I found the Plain English video informative and easy to understand. I blog a least once a week so anything about blogging, the do's and don'ts are great.
