No One Will Buy That

"No one will buy that" are words that visionaries often hear about their new services and products from others, often uninvited.

When someone dishes this advice, whether meant as helpful or hurtful, consider the client base and audience they consistently work with. Is it the same niche as the one your product or service is targeting? If not, thank them for their opinion, add it to your grain-of-salt list and move on.

I very much agree. Grain of salt and move onward and upwards.

The longer you're in business, the longer that "grain of salt" list becomes. There exists no shortage of individuals who are eager to point out perceived flaws in one's product/services/plan under the guise of being helpful.

Being told how I *might* fail has no value to me. Putting ideas and effort out there- even if failure is the ultimate outcome- is infinitely more useful in the grand scheme. That's something I've had to re-learn recently; it's a powerful lesson.

Thanks for reminding us, Liene, that it's ok to trust one's own instincts.
