Things That Amaze Me :: Volume 1
For less than 50 cents, I can send a card to a friend. It goes in a mailbox, gets picked up and driven to a place where it gets processed, then it gets put on a plane, flown across the country, driven to another place where it gets processed and then, somehow, out of the millions of homes in that city, ends up at the right one, regardless of the weather. All this within a few days and for four dimes and four pennies. Amazing.

So true! In this age of technological 'wizadry', it's important to appreciate the simple wonders.
love it - once bill maher, in response to people arguing, "government take over health care? what, do you want our health care system to run like the post office?" and he said something along the lines of, "yes, that would be great. for 44 cents i can put a letter in the mailbox in los angeles and two days later my sister in new york opens it. i would love it if health care was so efficient."
