Speaking at Engage!12 Wedding Conference at The BreakersWednesday, October 10, 2012
I'm thrilled to share that I'll be speaking again at Engage!12 at The Breakers this December. You can see the full speaker list and find more details at the brand new Engage!12 website.
Engage! is a series of conferences for people working in the luxury segment of the wedding industry. I am often asked to describe Engage! and it is always difficult to do so. It is so much more than a wedding conference. It is so much more than a few days of fun, learning and business development with fantastic people. I am not a frou-frou person, and yet the best, most accurate word I can think of to describe the Engage! experience is magical. Co-founders Rebecca and Kathryn have created an event that truly connects people in way that nothing else in the industry does.
One of the testimonials on the Engage!12 site says that the professional and personal connections gained through Engage! have no price tag. I agree wholeheartedly. I have met some of my now closest friends through these events. People who have sat in the hospital with me while doctors shared devastating news, people who have forced me to watch trashy reality TV shows with them in order to take my mind off my health, people I've taken multiple-state road trips with simply because that's what friends do in time of need.
And then, of course, there are the professional connections and friendships formed through Engage!. The people I've met through Engage! have helped me take my business further than I dreamed it could go. Could I have met these same people for lunch or coffee elsewhere? Of course. Would the results be the same? Not even close. Part of the magic of Engage! is that it allows people to let their guard down and forms a glue that can't be emulated.
Speaking of emulating, it's no secret that the Engage! model is now copied by other conferences all the time. A friend and I were discussing this the other day and this question was brought up: if you're putting on a conference, do you use the old way as a model or do you use the new standard? The obvious choice is the latter. Rebecca and Kathryn set a new standard for conferences (in any industry) with Engage!, but make no mistake, Engage! is the original and they continue to raise the bar with each event. There is nothing like it.
Every Engage! sells out and they keep the attendee count relatively low in order to create that magical atmosphere, so if you're interested, sign up soon! You can find more details here and register here.
***Update, October 11th: Engage!12 has sold out. You can sign up for the waiting list here.
