In a few days the first quarter of 2013 will come to a close. I'm convinced that our dreams, goals and New Year's resolutions fall by the wayside not because we no longer want those things but because we don't stop to articulate where we are now compared to January's wide-eyed wonder.
Attaining greater clarity comes through both doing the work and stopping to evaluate what all that doing is, well, actually doing.
Take a look at your goals from the beginning of the year. Now that we're three months in, how can you articulate them more clearly? Does your calendar from the past three months support forward movement on these goals? Or does it tell a story of lesser things gaining priority over real priorities?
For many, the day to day is where dreams go to die. For others, the day to day is where those dreams find soil and the nurturing needed to grow. Review, adjust and refuse to enter Quarter 2 wrapped up in the tyranny of the urgent.
