Others FirstWednesday, June 03, 2015
Great leaders put a high priority on the needs of others. This doesn’t mean that they neglect themselves, but rather that their own needs aren’t their sole focus.
It means that their decisions keep in mind the mutual benefit to all involved. They recognize that one of the mandates of leadership is to empower others, which naturally means considering another’s best interest. They approach conversations and collaborations from this viewpoint rather than with a "looking out for Number 1" agenda.
It’s a myth that a leader should be hard and arrogant. The best leaders embody true humility and generosity.
