An international hotel company hired Think Splendid to review and overhaul their underperforming wedding strategy, maximize their wedding revenue potential, and create a cohesive yet personalized brand experience across their 80+ properties around the world.

Deep Dive

We conducted a company-wide 360° assessment and discovered the hotel brand had been relying on inaccurate advice, dated stereotypes, and ineffective tactics to promote their wedding services to potential brides and grooms.

relevant Wedding Programming

We wrote a new Standard Operating Procedures manual covering every touchpoint of the wedding customer experience, with guidance and best practices to follow for wedding group food and beverage sales, guest relations, event coordination, decor rentals, design standards, safety procedures, etc.

We created wedding vendor and event supplier guidelines to ensure referrals of and collaborations with third-party wedding companies would meet the hotel company’s standards of excellence.

Wedding Marketing That Works

We redeveloped the overall sales and marketing plans for wedding events, replacing outdated strategies with ones that take into account how today's engaged couples actually buy.

We provided insights and forecasting on wedding trends and interior design trends. From there, we made recommendations on each individual hotel’s event inventory (tableware, vessels, linens, seating, ceremony and reception decor props, etc) in order to maximize add-on sales revenue.

We developed customized supplemental wedding options for the 80+ individual properties that took unique cultural practices into account for each location as well as those of their respective key source markets.

We created property-specific wedding marketing that met overall corporate brand standards.

As a result, each hotel’s catering directors were empowered to sell the unique features of their wedding packages and effectively position themselves against the cookie-cutter “wedding mill” offerings of their competitors.
