There's a lot of sales and marketing advice floating around lately telling you that the way to stay relevant with your millennial and Gen Z clients is to text them instead of emailing or calling.

This is sketchy advice. Text messages are still a "friends and family only" space for many people, younger generations included. However, some clients will love the option to communicate via text.

If you want the option to text with your clients, make it an opt-in checkbox on your contact form or ask them in your reply to their initial inquiry. This gives them control over this aspect of communication and keeps you from branding yourself as a pushy wedding pro with no concept of professional boundaries.

#GetSplendid offers tips designed to make your business and life a little more splendid, day by day. Our theme for March is 'Communication.'
